In the name of God Amen I James GILLIAM of the county of Charlotte being of sound mind and memory do make constitute and order in this my last will and testament in manner and form following (to wit)
I lend unto my beloved wife Martha GILLIAM one third part of my estate both real and personal during her natural life or widowhood then to be equally divided amongst my following sons (to wit) John GILLIAM William GILLIAM Thomas GILLIAM and Harrison GILLIAM to them their heirs and assigns forever
I give & bequath (sic) to my son Robert GILLIAM one hundred acres of my land lying on the Southside of Twitties creek adjoining the lines of Joseph Friend and Edward Keeling to be closed by one strait (sic) line also one negro man by the name of Dennis and also one feather bed which he has now in possession to him his heirs and assigns forever
I give and bequath to my son Allen GILLIAM two hundred acres of my land on the South side of Twitties creek adjoining the lines of Godfrey Jones and the estate of Japheth Fowler to be included by one strait line also one negroe boy by the name of George also one feather bed to him his heirs and assignes forever
I give and bequath to my daughter Amey GILLIAM one negro girl by the name of Ciss one bed and also one horse and saddle to her heirs and assigns forever when she arrives to the age of twenty years or marriage
I give and bequath to the rest of my sons (to wit) Jno GILLIAM Wm GILLIAM Thos GILLIAM and Harrison GILLIAM and (sic) equal part of all the rest of my land & slaves and stock of all kind and house hold furniture to them their heirs and assigns forever as they shall arrive to the age of twenty years and my will & desire is that what I have given to by daughter Elizabeth May and my daughter Salley Theweat (sic) which they have in each of their possession they may keep unmolested & lastly
I appoint Joseph Friend Wm Theweat & Stephen May Exors of this my last will & Testament In witness whereof I have hereunto set my and and seal this thirteenth day of October 1792

The last will and testament of James GILLIAM decd was presented in Court by Jos Friend Stephen May & Wm Theweat the exors herein named and the same was proved by the oath of Sherwood Vaughn George Hundley & Jas Johnston the witnesses hereto subscribed and ordered to be recorded & on the motion of the said Stepn May & Wm Theweat who made oath according to law certificate is granted for obtaining a probate of the said will in due form they given security where upon they together with Jos Friend and Thos Chaffin their securities intered (sic) into their bond according to law for that purpose the said Jos Friend having first renounced in open court the burthen (sic) of execution of the said will
